Bay Area Democrat Marc Levine’s clean-energy proposal would require California electricity providers to stop procuring coal-fired energy incrementally, and end the use of coal entirely by 2026.

California Democratic Lawmakers Levine, McGuire to Push Back Against Trump

“Democrats will stand in solidarity against Trump initiatives that strike at the heart of everything Californians hold precious,” said Assemblyman Marc Levine, D-San Rafael, whose district extends into Santa Rosa.

Levine, who said he was “horrified by Trump’s election,” said that any effort by the Trump administration to erase rights enjoyed by Californians would prompt an “equal and opposite reaction” by the Legislature.

Senate Leader de León Introduces Bill to “Freeze Out ICE”

Complex Gives Homeless a Place of Their Own on Nave Drive

Some politicians who have supported the project through the years spoke at the grand opening. They included Assemblyman Marc Levine (D- San Rafael), U.S. Rep. Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael), District 1 Marin County Supervisor Damon Connolly and Mayor Pat Eklund.

Levine said he introduced an affordable housing bill in the state legislature a couple of years ago with Marin County in mind.

“It was a promise to my colleagues, and the rest of the state, that Marin was going to do its job and house everyone in our community,” he said.
