Legislators Clear Plan to Rename Marin Tunnel for Robin Williams

The state Senate on Thursday approved the resolution introduced by Assemblyman Marc Levine, D-San Rafael, to change the name of the Waldo Tunnel. The state Assembly took the same action in April. Because it is a resolution, the change doesn't need a signature from Gov. Jerry Brown.

Young Leukemia Survivor Who Supports Vaccines Delivers Petition to Gov. Jerry Brown

Speaking at the news conference, Rhett Krawitt said simply that "vaccines save lives," and he thanked Assemblyman Marc Levine, D-San Rafael, for supporting the legislation. Parts of Levine's district have some of the state's lowest vaccination rates.

"The personal story of the Krawitt family reminds the Legislature and the governor that legislation like this has a direct effect on the public health of California families," Levine said.

California Bill Helps Medical Marijuana Users Access Organ Transplants

California lawmakers have passed a bill that prevents medical marijuana users from being denied organ transplants just because they use pot. The state Senate on Monday passed AB258 by Democratic Assemblyman Marc Levine of San Rafael on a 33-1 vote.

Bit by Bit. "Disclose Act" Becomes More Real.

Enter this year’s version of the Disclose Act, known as AB700 and sponsored by Democratic Assemblymen Marc Levine of San Rafael and Jimmy Gomez of northeast Los Angeles. This bill would compel political ads to disclose their top three funders clearly and unambiguously in the ads. The funders disclosed must be the original ones, not dummy committees like those used in the past to mask their activity by interests from labor unions to tobacco, chemical and oil companies, not to mention wealthy individuals.
