Campaign News

Friends -

It’s hard to believe that more than a year has gone by since our first Assembly campaign! With your help, we won the biggest upset in the state in 2012. Our locally based campaign prevailed despite being outspent by 5 to 1. I couldn't have done it without you.

Looking ahead to our 2014 reelection campaign, I wanted to share with you a few quick updates.

Huffman and Thompson Endorse

I’m pleased to announce that Congressmen Jared Huffman and Mike Thompson have endorsed my reelection to the State Assembly. It’s a pleasure to work with these leaders on behalf of our North Bay schools, environment, and families.

Join Us for the Official Campaign Launch on Sunday, February 9, 2014

We are officially kicking off the reelection campaign on Sunday, February 9, 2014, at the Albert J. Boro Community Center at Pickleweed Park, San Rafael. We’ll have food, drinks, games for the kids, and more from 1 to 4 p.m. We hope you will join for an afternoon of fun and family. Please save the date!

Updates from the Legislature

During the 2012 campaign, I pledged to help change the dysfunctional culture in Sacramento.  Working with my new colleagues, we’ve made progress, passing a balanced budget, reinvesting in our schools and universities, and starting to think long-term about the future of our state.

In my legislative efforts, I’ve worked to protect the environment by eliminating single-use plastic bags, increasing the use of recycled water, and providing infrastructure for electric vehicles charging stations. I’ve also worked to increase access to higher education through online courses. There's still much more work to do.
