Today Assemblymember Marc Levine (D-San Rafael) announced his appointment to the following Assembly Committees by Speaker John A. Pérez:
- Assembly Committee on Aging and Long-Term Care
- Assembly Committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism and Internet Media.
- Assembly Committee on Governmental Organization
- Assembly Committee on Higher Education
In addition to today's committee assignments, Assemblymember Levine will serve as the Chair of the Select Committee on Agriculture and the Environment, and as Vice-Chair of the Assembly Committee on Local Government.
"I am excited about the opportunity to serve the North Bay through these committee assignments," said Levine. "I thank Speaker Pérez for appointing me to these committees which deal with and address critical and complex issues. These assignments give me the opportunity to incorporate the perspective of Marin and southern Sonoma residents as legislation moves through these committees."
Every session as the Legislature reconvenes; the Speaker of the Assembly appoints committee chairs and Members to serve on the committees. Levine was elected to the Assembly in November, 2012, and was sworn into office last month when the 2013-14 Legislative Session began.
