Gov. Brown appears in Marin, urges energy officials to address global warming

In January, Assemblyman Marc Levine, D-San Rafael, sent a letter to Brown calling on him to issue an executive order to prohibit "fracking" in the state until health and environmental concerns are addressed.

"The governor has told me he is continuing to study the issue as his staff is developing new regulations," Levine said. "But I think fracking is too dangerous to continue while we study it, and we should have a moratorium until the study is completed."
